CHI Belgium Event | April 24 | A pirate's tale -- Controlling User Interfaces with your brain
Arrr... mateys (or humane computer lovers),
The second CHI Belgium event of 2012 is on its way and again it will be mind-blowing. On April 24th, we are welcomed at the beautiful C-Mine location in Genk (http://www.c-mine.be/nl/over-c-mine/route-contact).

17u00 - 17u20: A pirates tale: How we created "Piet Piraat Schattenjacht" - Bram Slotemans, Wouter Martens (Nascom)
Bram Slotemans and Wouter Martens will tell us all about the design and development process of the iPad and iPhone game 'Piet Piraat Schatteneiland" game.
17u20 - 18u00: Brain-Computer Interface controllers and their (gaming) possibilities – Nikolay Chumerin (Computational Neuroscience Research Group, KU Leuven
Is this what user interaction will be like in the future? In this talk, the Computational Neuroscience Research Group will explain the basics of EEG-based Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) and the possibities (and limitations) for user interaction. We will end with some preliminary guidelines on HCI for BCI devices. Nikolay wil also present two of their games, to be played with a BCI. Stay on during the reception and you will get to for yourself.

FREE CHI Belgium Spring event at Microsoft - 28 MAR 2012
The first CHI Belgium event of 2012 is coming up and it's going to be a big one.

Agile development is the latest craze in developer land. But how do you guard user requirements in this fast-paced development style. Storymapping is the key. This part is MEMBERS ONLY and restricted to 20 participants.

* A word on the money
After the success of our Barcamp last year we realized that to our community there's a clear interest in lowering the bar to our events. One of the ways to do that is to make events free. So this is our first attempt to that. As long as you register you can get in, for free. This doesn't mean that you should cancel your membership or not renew it. Members will get perks; for this first event this will be access to the workshop on Storymapping.

CHI Belgium BarCamp 10 DEC 2011 - Groep T Leuven
A Barcamp?A Barcamp is a so-called unconference. It is a meeting ground for, in this case, the HCI community. Participants can give a presentation about a topic of their choice or help out with the organisation.

DATE: Saturday December 10th, TIME: 14:00 - 18:00
VENUE: Groep T, Vesaliusstraat 13, 3000 Leuven.
But I always watch the kids on Saturday!
No problem, they are welcome too. They can test some games and play in the kid’s corner. Just let us know the number and the ages when registering.
Is it expensive?
No, it is totally free. The only thing we ask is to help us by giving a 5-20 minute talk / demo / set up a user test/ entertain the children or help out with the catering...
