SIGCHI.be is proud to announce its first one-day conference, which will take place on Monday 19 October in De Montil in Affligem, West of Brussels.

We are currently setting up the teams of volunteers that will take part in the organisation of the conference.

We recruited volunteers at the last event in Louvain-La-Neuve and 16 people signed up. We still need a few more and were wondering if you would be interested to join our team of conference enthusiasts. It will not represent more than a few days of work (sometimes less) between now and mid October.

If you are interested, please send a mail to Joannes Vandermeulen (jv@namahn.com) at the latest on Monday 4 May.

A DVD with the live recording of Bill Verplank's talk at last year's SIGCHI.be event is available free of charge for all SIGCHI.be members. Just pick one up at the upcoming event at Université Catholique de Louvain.

Here's what to do:
Apply to the SIGCHI.be LinkedIn group. If you do not have a LinkedIn account, you will be asked to create one.
Click "Accept Invitation"; button in the link above. When you do that, your group membership request will be pending until we validate it, usually within a day or two.
You will receive an email once your membership request is approved.
Afterwards, the group logo will appear in your profile under the My Groups link.

We'd like to invite you to the eight SIGCHI.be event on Thursday, September 18th at the Namahn library in Brussels.

At this event we will conduct our annual general meeting and hold elections for officers for the following positions:

Chair
Secretary
Treasurer

After a short break, we will repeat our crowd-pleaser of last year, "Show and Tell";. It's a pretty simple concept: You bring something you'd like talk about. This can be a prototype of a new product you're working on but it might just as well be a slideshow, a book or a picture of your children.

SIGCHI.be, the Belgian professional association for Human-Computer Interaction, is proud to invite you to a presentation by Bill Verplank on 'Sketching metaphors'.

During the first half of July, Bill Verplank is teaching at the Technical University of Eindhoven. He was found willing to address SIGCHI.be for an evening. We could only firm up this event a few days ago, which is why you are getting the invitation rather late. Sorry about that.

After a successful new year's drink, with demos of three different prototyping tools by Emakina, Alcatel-Lucent and Namahn, and a more informal drink last week in Ghent, it's time for the next full-scale SIGCHI.be event.
